Albert Wiggan – Director, Trainer & Cultural Leader

Albert Wiggan is more than a leader—he is a storyteller, educator, and cultural guardian. As the Director of the Albert Wiggan Institute, Albert brings his wealth of experience as a Bardi-Kija-Nyul Nyul leader, environmentalist, artist, musician, and filmmaker to the forefront of training and advocacy. His ability to weave together traditional knowledge, science, and leadership has made him a sought-after trainer and speaker on both national and international stages.
Born on the saltwater and red earth country of the Kimberley, Albert has spent his life protecting, teaching, and advocating for land, people, and culture. His work spans climate action, Indigenous governance, mental health, and conservation, but his impact extends far beyond advocacy—he is a mentor, facilitator, and bridge-builder between cultures and industries.

An accomplished musician and artist, Albert channels his creativity into storytelling, using film, music, and art to express the depth of Indigenous knowledge and its relevance in today’s world. Whether leading cultural awareness training, advising corporate leaders, or performing on stage, his message remains the same: respect for Country, responsibility for the future, and the power of unity..

At the Albert Wiggan Institute, Albert leads training programs that challenge perspectives, foster understanding, and inspire action—because cultural competence isn’t just about learning; it’s about leadership, change, and creating a lasting impact.
David Schulz – Co-Founder, Senior Trainer & Strategist

David Schulz is a visionary leader, strategist, and senior trainer with a lifelong commitment to empowering individuals, strengthening communities, and fostering cultural leadership. His journey into training and development began over a decade earlier than often noted—during his 10 years of service in the Australian Army as a communications specialist and trainer. In this high-stakes environment, David honed the discipline, adaptability, and strategic thinking that would later define his leadership in human services, youth work, and community development. His formal transition into youth development came in 1994 when he worked alongside the late Senator Neville Bonner, Australia’s first Indigenous parliamentarian, delivering transformative programs for young Aboriginal men. This formative experience ignited David’s passion for mentorship, cultural empowerment, and resilience-building—values that remain at the core of his work today.

David’s career has since spanned global youth development, therapuetic wilderness guiding, trauma-informed care, and elite training programs. His expertise extends from the rugged outback of Australia to international conflict zones, where he partnered with the United Nations to build policies and capacity for youth and trauma recovery programs with Lady Olena Zelenska's Mental Health Psycho Social Support Plan . He has spent many decades of Human Service work that has included ten snow seasons as a ski and snowboard instructor, integrating outdoor education with leadership and skills development. Whether navigating alpine terrain or working in remote Indigenous communities, David’s work continues to bridge resilience, cultural knowledge, and modern leadership.

A master trainer and strategist, David specializes in cultural competence, trauma-aware leadership, and strength-based training. His work integrates evidence-based methodologies with practical, hands-on learning, ensuring participants don’t just absorb knowledge, but embody it. He has worked extensively with First Nations communities, designing and delivering programs that bridge traditional wisdom with contemporary leadership skills.

At the Albert Wiggan Institute, David’s role is pivotal—he drives the development of training frameworks, curriculum design, and leadership education. His approach is immersive, bold, and deeply rooted in respect—challenging individuals and organizations to step into a higher standard of cultural awareness, responsibility, and effective leadership.
His mantra is simple: One day can create a lifetime of impact.
